Once again the prestigious venue of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) will host our June 2010 London Map Fair.

This event brings together around 40 of the leading national and international map dealers as well as hundreds of visiting dealers, collectors, curators and map aficionados from all parts of the world.

A fantastic selection of Original Antique Maps will be for sale, ranging in age from the 15th C. to the  20th C., covering all parts of the world and priced to suit all pockets: from £10 to £100,000.

Exhibitors will also offer a large range of Atlases, Travel Books, Globes, Sea Charts, Town Plans, Topographical Prints, Reference Books and related ephemera.

Famous Cartographers and Publishers such as Ptolemy, Mercator, Ortelius, John Speed, Christopher Saxton, Blaeu, Jansson and many other important figures in the history of map-making will be well represented.

The London Map Fair Lecture will be held during the first day of the fair, on Saturday 5th June at 14.30 in the Ondaatje Theatre, inside the RGS building.

(Admission is free and is strictly on a first come first served basis) 

We’re pleased to announce that our guest speaker this year will be  Nicholas Crane FRGS, explorer, writer and broadcaster, 

presenter of  Map Man, Coastand Great British Journeys. He will speak about the great Flemish cartographer Gerard Mercator’s life, his map production and his legacy to modern mapping. 

The RGS building is conveniently located at the edge of Hyde Park, next to the Royal Albert Hall and close to the Victoria & Albert Museum, Harrods, Knightsbridge and the West End.
