Rebecca Ver Straten-McSparran, MCWCC Arts and Rec Chair, is pleased to announce: “The Miracle Mile Art Walk will again be an evening art walk, from 4:30 - 9pm.  Not only has the response been much greater in the evenings, but numerous galleries are having evening openings throughout the night! And, in observance of Rosh Hashanah, we changed the date of the September Art Walk to the 2nd Saturday of this month.”  

Chris Denson, Marketing Director for MMAW, has also scheduled a special treat for families and peace lovers of all ages – the CHALK4PEACE event will take place from 3 - 7 PM – Brought to you by iNDIGO PROjECT, a multimedia production company that produces non-fiction stories to entertain and inspire progress within local and global communities has partnered with CHALK4PEACE, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit and the Miracle Mile Art Walk, to create peace on the streets in the heart of Los Angeles. The Holly Trolley shuttle, courtesy of Council Districts 4 and 5, will once again make a continuous loop stopping near galleries beginning at 4:30 p.m. at 170 N. La Brea Ave (balloons will identify trolley stops.) 

SCHEDULE --4:30 pm – DNJ Gallery – 154 1/2 North La Brea Ave. Open until 8:00 pm - ARTIST TALK with photographer, Chris Verene. Verene, from Galesburg, Illinois, has been photographing his family and friends since 1984 and has committed to this project for the duration of his life. Light refreshments provided by DNJ Gallery. 

4:30 – 7:00pm - Tobey C. Moss Gallery – 7321 Beverly Blvd Special Miracle Mile Art Walk preview of works by Bauhaus educated, German-American painter and print maker, Werner Drewes (1899-1985) show opens Monday, Sept. 14.

5:00 pm – Perrell Fine Art – 145 North La Brea Ave. Open until 9:00 pm ARTIST TALK with Paul Kirley. Beverages provided by Perrell Fine Art. 
September Host Gallery - Merry Karnowsky Gallery - 170 South La Brea Avenue. 

6:30 pm Reception and ARTIST TALK for Miracle Mile Art Walk, sponsored by Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council. Camille Rose Garcia will speak about her exhibit, The Hydra of Babylon. Followed by a private, invitation only reception from 7:00 - 8:00. Public reception from 8:00 - 11:00pm, hosted by Brody Dalle.

The Saturday, September 12 Miracle Mile Art Walk concludes with the After-party taking place at,The Loft at Liz’s - above Liz’s Antique Hardware - 453 S. La Brea Ave. 8:30 -10:30 pm (after 9:00 enter through alley off 6th St., behind store.)Final day of, Diverted Destruction 2 - In this second annual show, artists create art with found objects they’ve diverted from the landfill.  DJ, light snacks and beverage provided by The Loft at Liz’s.
