Jewellery of chocolate

To honor the origins of chocolate – Claire Requa has lauched her collection of Clairely jewellery she calls CHOCOLATEY – in the windy city - Chicago

ChocRing2

March 2009 - Chocolatey was launched in Chicago at the well-known traditional event - Dixon's Cultural Connections.  The designer, Claire Requa, the creative force behind ACCENT,  designs and produces mainly lighting products, mirrors and other interior accessories.  She has now expanded her product line of lamps and other interior products to include a line of jewellery also made from acrylic - which she calls Clairely.  The line currently consists of necklaces, rings, and bracelets;  earrings and more intricate neckpieces are in development.  This is the second collection in the CLAIRELY line - CHOCOLATEY.  (The first line is called Chandelier).

Inspiration for doing the jewellery came from a deep personal comitment to the environment - reduction/use of waste material.   Production of her lamps is carefully and meticulously planned in conjunction with the jewellery so very little material is wasted. So  these lovely "light pieces"  are created that provide countless hours of personal entertainment for the wearer.  Not only are they ornamental but act as "light catchers" casting wonderful shadows on the skin of the wearer. Most of her products are sold in over 19 countries worldwide.

This collection of CLAIRELY jewellery is based on a tapestry of symbols from Ghana, the birthplace of chocolate.  The symbols used here were chosen for their graphic form and meaning.

FUNKTIONAL - fun, funky and functional

The jewellery is currently available in the Chicago area from these stores:

Takara - Oak Park (Chicago suburb)
Essential Elements - Southside Chicago
She Only - Downtown Chicago
Simply Greta - Los Angeles, California
