Carl Lester-El Has An Impressive Musical Resume. Lester-El Has Power Over Melody, Is A Prolific Song Writer And Has An Extensive Collection Of Music That's About To Go Public.

Carl Lester El II, is an impressive bassist, drummer, percussionist and guitarist who has been performing since the age of nine. In his early years, Lester-El performed in various groups and in notable places like Newark Symphony Hall, The Cathedral of St. John the Divine and the Manhattan School of Music.

Later, Carl went on to study Commercial Music at Virginia Union University (VUU) in Richmond, VA. While at VUU, Carl helped form a group called "Jazz Journey" and played with Jazz notables like Donald Byrd and Rufus Harley. From 1988-1990, Lester-El played bass and drums for CBS recording artist Regina Belle. In 1990, Lester-El was "House Bassist" for the B.E.T. television network show "Sound on Style", hosted by Ramsey Lewis. On this show, he performed with popular Jazz artists Earl Klugh, Bobby Watson, Randy Brecker, Joe Sample, Gerald Albright and Mark Whitfield.

In 1994, Carl toured with the gospel musical, "How I Got Over". In that same year, he assisted Stu Gardner as studio bassist for the television sitcom "Living Single". Next, Carl taught bass and guitar for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Richmond Chapter. He's also one of the founders of the contemporary jazz group F.R.E.N.S., who are well known up and down East Coast and have also ventured across the pond to perform in Europe. The ensemble has shared the stage with such notables as Chaka Khan, Doc Powell, Ron Lawrence, Pieces of a Dream and Spyro Gyra. F.R.E.N.S. first CD, "The First Time," is a popular and exciting collection of original Jazz music.

Adding to his responsibilities, Carl Lester-El joined Sacred Sounds Music, Inc. in 1997 as Music Director and played a significant role in "Sisterhood," a hit musical that toured Europe for over 6 years in Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
