1.0 - Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how PressPort (The Service) handles personal user data.

Users of this website and services may provide personal data to us when visiting our website and when using our services, either as a private individual or as a representative of a company. PressPort may also obtain personal user data from third party sources. PressPort acts as the data controller of personal data obtained accordingly and of its processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

PressPort values user’s personal integrity and therefore protect personal data and ensure that PressPort’s processing of personal user data is correct and lawful. 2.0 - Use and review of personal data

2.1 - Introduction

Personal data will never be disclosed to third parties unless users expressly give consent and PressPort never collects personal information without giving users this information by registering, purchasing or participating in a survey, etc. Here information is gathered about the name, address, postal code, e-mail, interests, attitudes and knowledge of various topics.

2.2 - Type of personal user data

The following categories of personal data are collected:

  1. Account data: username, newsroom name, password, information regarding unique identifiers such as API tokens, profile picture, bio, and information relating to other social media profiles (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Skype or Google accounts), email address, telephone number, location, professional title, and information regarding the company users represent, personal and professional preferences, including interests, subscriptions and language settings;
  2. End user data: browser information e.g. type and version of browser, any website from which users have been referred, which time zone users visit from; pages users visit on the PressPort website; IP-address and a rough location estimate based on the IP-address; information about web activity or user’s interaction in emails sent by PressPort; information on the use of the PressPort services.
  3. System generated data: e.g. subscription data, like start date, latest invoice date and the result of a mandatory VAT number validation.

2.3 - Use of personal data

Personal information is used to complete the service provided on the Website and to which the information is collected in connection with. The information is also used to gain more knowledge of users and other users of the site. This use may include studies and analyzes that are aimed at improving our products, services, and technologies, as well as displaying content and advertisements tailored to user’s interests.

If users want access to the information registered with users at PressPort, please contact PressPort. If users have incorrect data or have any other objections, please contact the same place. Users have the opportunity to gain insight into what information has been registered about users and users may object to a registration under the terms of the Personal Data Act and the EU Personal Data Regulation (GDPR).

Personal user information must be kept safe and confidential in accordance with the Personal Data Act and the EU Personal Data Regulation. PressPort stores personal user information on limited access computers that are located in controlled facilities and PressPort handles personal user information properly and with due regard to user’s rights as a user. However, PressPort cannot guarantee 100 percent security. This means that there may be a risk that other unauthorized persons gain access to information when data is sent and stored electronically. Users thus disclose personal user information at their sole discretion.

PressPort notes that this applies solely to personal user information, but not to personal data that users treat as part of the use of PressPort’s services and products. This refers to PressPort’s general business relations.

3.0 - Storage of user data

PressPort’s servers are located in Europe, including

Communication from and to these servers is encrypted with the same security as typical online banks use. SSL EEC (ECDSA, sha256RSA, 2048bit).

PressPort reserve the right to update and modify these privacy practices with a notice of at least 30 days. Users can always find information about the time when this policy was last modified. In any event, users will be informed of changes via email. PressPort refers to the General Terms and Conditions.

4.0 - User rights

Users, according to the Personal Data Act and the EU Personal Data Regulation, have the right to know what personal information is attributable to users. Should it appear that the information or data processed about users is incorrect or misleading, users are entitled to require these corrected, deleted or blocked. Users can object to any information about users being treated as a matter of urgency. Users may also revoke users’ consent at any time. Users have the opportunity to complain about the processing of information and data relating to users - both to PressPort, but also to the Data Inspectorate.
