West Yorkshire Steel Ups Its Game

Press release June 27, 2013 Construction

Worldwide and UK steel supplier West Yorkshire Steel has announced some significant developments which it says will improve all its processes from sales and servicing right through to despatch.

The company, based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire has remained a key supplier of tool steel, stainless steel, carbon steel and alloy steel grades to industry for almost forty years and has survived the economic ups and downs which have seen many of its competitors fall by the wayside. Founded in 1975, the company attributes its enduring success to the family-run values it continues to maintain and to its keen focus on customer satisfaction.

It is that dedication to customer satisfaction which has prompted the firm to invest in some of the latest technology to upgrade its existing sales processing systems. Though the company already enjoys ISO 9001 certification for Quality Management Systems, it is not content to rest on its laurels, and has implemented a sophisticated new database which will help maintain and improve its fast and reliable service on all its orders.

In tandem with this major investment, the company has negotiated a significant enhancement to its delivery contract with freight distribution partner Pallex which will see all orders despatched on pallets being fulfilled on a next-day delivery service.

West Yorkshire Steel delivers throughout the UK and beyond from its warehouse in Leeds and its sales team has a reputation in industry circles as being knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to advising customers on the various steels it supplies. With the changes announced today, the company is putting its money where its mouth is and proving that it doesn’t just pay the usual lip service to customer satisfaction, but is determined to put its philosophy into action.

These changes will serve to further modernise this already successful business and cement its position in the market. They could also help to improve its £800,000 annual turnover – no small feat for a small family-run business in these tough economic times and one which must be seen as a testament to the experience and expertise the company has built over the last 40 years.
