THOSE WITH SMALL APARTMENTS SHOULD CONSIDER PURCHASING MULTIFUNCTIONAL FURNITURE, IT HAS BEEN CLAIMEDPress release February 4, 2010 Homes & Gardens
Karen Broderick, Trend Watch Expert for Harveys the furniture store takes a look t how to maximise space with clever storage solutions
Dual-function furnishings are a must for people who own small homes, Karen Broderick has suggested as they boost the amount available space.
"Check out storage coffee tables, and slider wardrobes that maximise storage space," she remarked. "You can even find sofas and ottomans that have storage areas inside of them."
Sofa beds can also serve this purpose by combining two pieces of furniture into a single item, she added.
Likewise if its not a priority to have maximum seating without the sleeping facility, look at a 2 and 2 sofa package such as the Candice that Harveys are currently selling for £299 for both – they can be very good value purchases.
According to Miss Broderick, purchasing furniture that has legs is also advisable, she added, as low-to-the-ground fixtures often play a trick on the eye, making it appear as if an area is more cramped.
