Thorntons keeps customers sweet with early vat reduction

Thorntons, the UK's number one High Street chocolatier, will implement the new VAT reduction two days early across its entire 629 stores as part of its commitment towards achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

With a reputation of providing a first class service and affordable premium products to its loyal shoppers, the Company has ensured it is looking after its customers in the current financial climate, by guaranteeing that by Saturday, November 29, customers were able to enjoy their Christmas shopping trip at Thorntons knowing they were getting the best price possible.

The Company worked round the clock to guarantee that new systems were in place to ensure the VAT reduction (from 17.5% to 15%) was active by the weekend. All prices will be discounted at the till.
Mike Davies, CEO at Thorntons explains: "Thorntons has always prided itself on keeping its loyal customer base happy and for thousands of people Christmas just isn't Christmas without Thorntons chocolates. To avoid disrupting our customers' Christmas shop and to ensure we are giving our customers the best value for money, we chose to implement the VAT reduction early.

"Christmas is one of our busiest times of year and we want to ensure our customers' shopping experience is the best on the High Street and that means passing on any savings we can to them at a time when people are watching the pennies."
Thorntons will also be running promotions across its estate in the run up to Christmas. Currently selected Christmas gifts are on a 3 for 2 offer.
