The Management Centre achieves highest level of accreditation

The Management Centre at Bangor University is please to announce that it has achieved accreditation from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) to deliver their Level 7, post-graduate standard qualifications in Strategic Leadership & Executive Management and Executive Coaching & Leadership Mentoring. The Centre is the only provider in Wales and only one of two in the North West Area to have attained this high level in Management provision from ILM

Building on the coaching and mentoring programmes which began in March 2008, The Management Centre will be offering Award, Certificate and Diploma qualifications at Level 7 in Strategic Leadership & Executive Management. The programme commences on the 16^th April 2008, with each unit taking one evening per week over three weeks to complete.

Additional programmes in both coaching & mentoring and leadership & management are planned for later in the year as summer school or weekend options. September will see the launch of ILM Level 5 qualifications, which are regarded as degree level standard.

All of the training programmes offered by The Management Centre can be delivered at the Centre or off-site at client premises. Programmes are designed so that individuals have the opportunity to start at any point in the programme and pick up units as time permits in order to build up enough units to gain the qualifications. ILM qualifications provide external recognition of quality and commitment to develop employees, as well as providing value to organisations by maximising the transfer of learning into the workplace through work-based assessment processes.

Background

The Management Centre offers a range of executive education consisting of part and full-time postgraduate programmes from Bangor University Business School, certificated professional qualifications, accountancy qualifications and management development short courses.

Programmes are delivered in high specification training and meeting rooms, lecture theatres or our fully-equipped IT suite, all of which are available to hire for meetings and conferences.

The Management Centre is able to cater for overnight guests and delegates in beautifully designed, hotel-standard guest bedrooms. ‘Courts' at The Management Centre presents restaurant dining with views over the Menai Straits and a coffee shop, which is open daily to the public, providing an informal meeting place with Wi-Fi access.

The Centre for Business Research and Market Intelligence, (CBRmi) within The Management Centre can provide consultancy services for organisations in Wales.

The Management Centre was part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Welsh Assembly Government through Objective 1 and Gwynedd Council Local Regeneration Fund.
