Proudly presenting: Calvendo’s first “Made in the UK” wall calendar edition

Press release December 8, 2015 Christmas UK Photography Made in the UK

Self-publishers creating a range of calendars on British themes

Made in the UK logo

A couple of months ago, Calvendo, a publishing platform for wall calendars, asked its self-publishers to submit calendars under the headline “Made in the UK”, with no further restrictions: Traditions, sights, quirks, any theme was possible and users could interpret the headline freely and let their creative juices flow. Now and in time for Christmas (gift ideas!), Calvendo has a lovely collection of wall calendars in its first ever “Made in the UK” edition, featuring anything from magical woodlands, to Sottish, Welsh and English landscapes, by way of vintage cars, steam trains and much more. There’s photography, digital paintings and even calligraphy. It’s eclectic, quirky and quite beautiful – just like the UK.

And here they are – proudly presenting:

- Appreciate quirkiness? You’ll like this then: Lil Folx, by Nick Meers
- Into William Morris? Take a look at the Calligraphic William Morris Calendar, by Ingo Schiege

All calendars can be ordered as digital print-on-demand products on UK retail platforms such as Bookdepository, Amazon, Speedyhen or Lovereading and are also available internationally via Calvendo's partnerships with retailers across Europe. Please note that some retailers list products as "out of stock" because of Calvendo's print-on-demand set up. Items can still be ordered.

Calvendo, which was set up in Germany in 2012 and launched in the UK last year, is a unique and free of charge platform that enables photographers, graphic designers, painters and creative people to not only create their own calendars but to also sell them on the international book market. As an open platform, users can register free of charge as self-publishers, create their calendars with an editing software integrated on the site and submit them to a jury who will perform a quality check. All calendars that pass the jury process and are released for publication will receive an ISBN and be listed on retail platforms. Upon customer order, they are produced via digital print-on-demand and self-publishers receive royalties for each copy sold.
