mp3cityguides launches new Barcelona guide
Press release March 14, 2010 TourismNew guide to join existing Barcelona Eixample tour
mp3cityguides, largest provider of downloadable city walking tours has launched a new mp3 Barcelona tour.
The new tour of Barcelona begins with the Ramblas where it includes stops at the Mercat Sant Josep, described as the most beautiful food market in the world, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu where the guide talks about the history of this celebrated building including the terrorist attack it suffered.
The walking tour then goes through the Placa Reial where listeners hear about the history of Barcelona before they are plunged into the narrow, winding streets of the Call, the oldest part of the city. The tour tells the story of Santa Eulalia and then the tragic events in the beautiful Placa Sant Felip Oriel before it leads visitors along to the Cathedral Le Seu.
After a visit to the ancient Placa del Rei where Christopher Columbus was welcomed back from his travels by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, the tour then moves across to the Ribeira district. This latest Barcelona walking tour in the mp3cityguides collection then takes visitors to the Picasso Museum before ending up by the beautiful church of Santa Maria del Mar in the trendy district of El Born.
“This tour is intended to complement our Barcelona Eixample tour which is one of most popular,” said Simon Brooke, the tour’s author and one of the founding partners of mp3cityguides. “Barcelona is such a varied, exciting city and we’ve had huge demand for a tour which guides visitors round its most ancient and distinctive neighbourhoods.”
