GERONIMO INNS PRESENT LIVE MUSIC AT THE ELGIN FOOD PUB & MUSIC HOUSE IN JULY 2010
Press release July 6, 2010 MusicGeronimo Inns are presenting several evenings of live acoustic entertainment at The Elgin Music House & Food Pub in Ladbroke Grove on Thursdays throughout July 2010.
Thursday 8th July
Three sets will be performed this evening, beginning with The October Game. Their quintessentially English, folk-tinged alternative rock music has caused them to win the People’s Choice Award at the 2010 Emerging Talent Awards. BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson has also named ‘Concrete’ one of the best tracks of 2008.
Lizzy Pattinson has two top 20 hits by the age of 18 as a vocalist with dance band Aurora. Now stepping out as a singer songwriter, Lizzy’s breathtaking sound charms audiences.
Chloe Turner, a 16 year old who is an acoustic sensation who “has recently been taking acoustic open-mic stages by storm” (Heartbeat FM - RITP 2009), completes the set.
Thursday 15th July
Marques Toliver is an inspirational American musician who has shaped a career as a violinist, vocalist and songwriter and has performed with prominent artists such as Bat for Lashes. He is also a master of the guitar, piano and the mini harp. The Guardian has described his talent as so great that if he “were to appear on The X Factor he would make Cowell and co weep”.
Liverpool-born Delta Maid has had a love affair with roots music from a young age, and has always sung and played the guitar and piano. Her songs are mainly influenced by the Blues, but also have Country and Folk labels attached to them. Finally is Jazz Morley, whose naturally soulful voice is far beyond her 21 years.
Thurs 29th July
Ed Sheeran, whose influences include Bob Dylan and Van Morrison has created a unique sound by mixing folk with hip hop. Self-acclaimed as “the lovechild of Damien Rice and Jay-Z”, Sheeran plays an electric-acoustic guitar and beatboxes. Sheeran has toured with Nizlopi, Just Jack and currently Example, as well as working with Julian Simmons, MC Scorcher, Jay Sean and The Noisettes.
With vocals that can make and break your heart in one set, Mark Hole has an epic sound, described byAlex Zane “EPIC OR WHAT!!” Tom Robinson, BBC6 Radio highlighted his sound as “deep, rich, modern and very slightly unsettling.”
Sherika Sherard was the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Musicians Benevolent Fund Songwriting Award. The 18 year old has already been described by ‘Live and Unsigned’ as ‘London’s Best Solo Act’. Beginning her songwriting career at the age of 14, Sherika will use the £5000 from the award to buy new equipment and record an acoustic album.

The Elgin
Launched in August 2009, The Elgin Food Pub & Music House is Geronimo Inn’s only live music & food pub. Divided into three distinct areas, the regular music sessions take place in the 70 cover music room, situated towards the back of the building. The ‘mix and match’ decor, which includes bookcases and large wooden sideboards, recreates the customary richness and ‘lounge-ability’ usually found in Geronimo Innssites, and is suitably homely in feel to compliment the laid back atmosphere.
