FIRST TIME SUCCESS FOR ACCOUNTANCY STUDENTS

Press release September 4, 2008 Education

ACCA students at The Management Centre, Bangor Business School have achieved an outstanding set of results in the June examination sitting of the ACCA professional qualification. This is the first time in students have been able to complete the qualification in North Wales, previously they have had to complete their studies off their own bat or by travelling to England.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is one the leading professional accountancy qualifications in the world. ACCA courses at The Management Centre commenced in September 2008 providing tuition at all levels of the ACCA professional qualification.

Particularly worthy of note are the results of Debra Jones and Carl Shipton who have successfully completed all the examinations on the professional qualification.

Debra lives in Benllech on Anglesey and works for Denton Williams Cyf in their Bangor office on Parc Menai. Carl also lives on Anglesey, in Menai Bridge, and works in the Bangor University Finance Department.

Colin Bradley, Director of Accounting  Courses at The Management Centre said:

"It is pleasing to be able to congratulate Debra and Carl on their results. They provide the vanguard of what should now become a stream of accountants trained in North Wales and providing the accounting and financial expertise needed in the North Wales economy.

We must also praise the results of our other students, some of whom who have attained exceptional marks in these gruelling professional examinations."
