CARTRIDGE WORLD CARBON ZERO RACING TEAM

Press release July 29, 2009 Motor & Transport

CARTRIDGE WORLD SIGN GORDON SHEDDEN

The countdown is well underway! There is now less than a week to go, after a 6 week break, before the UK’s premier motor racing series – the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship – gets underway for the 6th round of the 2009 season at the 1.95 mile Snetterton circuit in Norfolk. The Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing Team will head East with the team in 5th spot in the Independent Teams Championship. The team has announced a new driver line up for Snetterton with the very experienced BTCC race winner Gordon Shedden (nicknamed ‘Flash’) joining Adam Jones.

Snetterton’s ultra-fast lay-out, where speeds approach 150mph, makes for exciting racing and the Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing Team are preparing to show their true form this weekend. Adam Jones picked up an 8th spot last season, whilst Gordon Shedden won a BTCC race there in 2007.

Gordon Shedden comments on his return to the cut and thrust of the BTCC: “I was approached by Colin very recently and things have moved quickly to this point. I wanted to be part of a team where I know I can make a difference; Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing is in a position right now where it is ready to move forward and I intend to help them do just that”.

The Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing Team is preparing to make their mark on the Championship in the second half of the season. Colin Neill, Team Principal, is looking forward to the remainder of the season with his new driver line-up: ”Gordon’s experience and skills will be a great asset to the entire team. He is a hard racer and a proven race winner in the BTCC. Signing Gordon happened very quickly and all the team are looking forward to the second half of the season”.

Adam Jones, preparing for the weekend, had this to say: “I’m looking forward to the second half of the season and Snetterton with my new team mate. I know Gordon on and off the track and he is a great guy and a committed racer. I’m sure that we’ll both be very competitive”.

The full racing programme from Snetterton, including rounds 16, 17 and 18 of the 2009 BTCC will be shown live on ITV4 on Sunday.
