Cartakeback.com Ltd, the End of Life Vehicle (ELV) Service Provider to the majority of Vehicle Manufacturers, has recruited Peter Stokes to their management team.
Peter moves from Volkswagen Group UK Ltd, where he was responsible for Environmental Compliance for the Group, as well as representing the Automotive Industry to Government on Environmental matters. “I have had a long association and interest in vehicle recycling, right from the pre Regulation days in the mid nineties” he said “ so the opportunity to be more deeply involved, particularly as we move toward the 95% target of 2015, was too much to resist”.
Graham Price head of Cartakeback’s management team said “It’s great that we’ve got Peter on board; his Regulatory knowledge, Motor Industry background, technical understanding of vehicles and his External Relations experience will be a tremendous asset to us as we gear up to meet future challenges and opportunities”.
Cartakeback.com Ltd was formed in 2004 to provide vehicle manufacturers with compliance to the End of Life Vehicle Regulations. They currently hold contracts with vehicle manufacturers representing 66% by volume of the end of life vehicle parc ,and in 2009 organised the recycling of over half a million cars diverting approximately 45,000 tons of ELV material from landfill - meaning their contracted manufacturers achieved the mandatory 85% recycling target. To provide national coverage, Cartakeback.com Ltd manages a network of around 300 Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs) on behalf of their contracted manufacturers where last owners can return their old cars for recycling.
