Caring Matters Launch New Online Resource for those caring for elderly parents or relatives in the North West
Press release July 17, 2013 HealthBlackpool carers now have a one stop resource to help and support them whilst caring for the elderly.
Do you need help caring for an elderly parent or relative?
When Don began caring for his Mother it started with a few small errands and chores as the commitment increased, it was not long before it became clear that he was going to need help to enable him to provide all that was going to be required if he was to do his best for his Mum.
But where to start searching and what was available, to support him in his caring role he had zero previous experience in, Don began his mission to seek out what sources of help, support and information that was out there but he found it was fragmented and held in so many separate sources and agencies. After searching online and visiting local day care center’s, talking to other experienced carers most of whom had a tip or two or some practical advice and they shared information; it began to be very clear to Don that he needed to write this down and list this and other sources of information into a simple handbook to help him care better for his mother.
This was when Caring Matters evolved into a one-stop resource for carers wanting to find vital information and guidance on caring for the elderly. Soon others began to contact him with their quires and within a short time some of the major charities, other groups and organisations that wanted to be part of this one stop elderly care resource.
Don said "I wanted to show carers in the Fylde area that there is plenty of help, advice and support readily available; however only if you know how and where to find it. Our Caring Matters elderly care publication and the recently re-designed dedicated elderly care website aims to offer carers all the information and advice in just one place completely free"
Don having experienced many of the stressful situations and difficulties ofcaring for an elderly parent or relative, he could understand how time consuming and difficult it could be to search for and investigate all the separate agencies that offer various care information. Many carers miss out on much of the available help and benefits because they haven’t the time required to search all the varies sources to find them That is why Caring Matters has become a time saving tool for carers of the elderly to access the sources of help, advice and support information in the Fylde area.
Caring Matters free publication and the dedicated elderly care online website contains a one stop resource for carers; it lists many services and products available in Fylde. It provides essential elderly dietary recipes and nutritional facts, food providers, home help to financial & legal support along with a full listing of the quality residential care homes in the area.
