Award winning swimwear designer and breast cancer survivor, Clover Lewis, named judge for RAFT awards

Award winning swimwear designer, Clover Lewis, will be one of the judges of the RAFT 30th Anniversary Awards.  Following from her own experience of breast cancer, and finding it impossible to find stylish and beautiful swimwear for someone who has had a masectomy, Clover created Clover Lewis Swimwear.  With the business strapline "look good outside, feel great inside", Clover Lewis Swimwear helps women who have undergone mastectomy and other breast cancer surgeries to swim anywhere without feeling exposed or vulnerable.  The collection is admired as the pieces also support women's recover of body confidence.

Her swimwear has won two prestigious awards - UK Lingerie Awards 2015 Winner for Post-Surgery Brand of the Year and Finalist in the New Designer of the Year.

On 1st February 2018, medical research charity, RAFT (Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust), launched its 30th Anniversary Awards.  Clover Lewis will judge the "RAFT Researcg Programme with Greatest Contribution to Patients' Lives"

RAFT CEO, Leonor Stjepic said "Clover is an inspiration to us all.  Having had breast cancer herself, she understands the importance of research in improving treatments available to patients."

Clover Lewis said "As I have had several breast reconstruction surgeries, I know the effects of aesthetic breast surgery on recovery of positive body image.  But it was not all positive: I also had to deal with the physical and psychological impact, multiple and extended downtime recovering from multiple surgeries.  Brast reconstruction today is a lengthy, painful process.  That is why I am passionate about supporting RAFT and their work on developing methods of plastic surgery reconstruction whcih is less traumatic for patients."
