Admiral James G. Stavridis, Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), has recently issued a statement regarding Defence IQ’s Network Centric Warfare (NCW) Europe event.

The statement addresses the importance of NEC in current operations and how the NCW Europe conference will help ensure coalition interoperability:

“Today’s globalized world is stitched together with electronic networks that share and distribute information in near real-time to all points on the compass.  These networks have become global utilities routinely used by government, civilian, and commercial entities for daily business transactions, communication, data sharing and myriad other uses…

The Network Centric Warfare Europe 2010 Conference presents a great opportunity for academics, defense contractors and military professionals to discuss emerging operational requirements and begin developing timely and innovative technical solutions to achieve balance between openness and security to keep our command and control systems operationally responsive and reliably accessible in times of crisis.  Conferences like Network Centric Warfare Europe 2010 in Brussels are keystones to strong relationships with NATO members and other regional partners—relationships that make us collectively better prepared for future military operations.”

Elana Hartle-Fishman, Event Director of NCW Europe said “On behalf of Defence IQ, I would like to thank Admiral Stavridis for this statement. As both one of the leading minds in irregular warfare and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, we are honoured that Admiral Stavridis has recognised the importance of events such as NCW Europe in building strong relationships with NATO members and other regional partners.”
