3 key things to look out for when choosing your sofa bed

The summer entertaining season is upon us and for those of us with more guests than bedrooms, the sofa bed is a great solution. Once the uncomfortable sleeping place of yesteryear, sofa beds can now be cosy and comfortable. But choose carefully and follow Harveys expert advice.

Whether you're interested in colour, size or fabric style etc, your overriding priority when choosing a sofa bed is to find something that works as a sofa and as a bed. Don't choose an uncomfortable cheap alternative that you'll end up regretting!

1. Added extras
   A good mattress is crucial! Foam won't give you the same support as those that are sprung. If you want to take it a step further, posture springing provides you with up to three times as many springs as an ordinary mattress. If you'll be using your sofa bed every day, look for wooden slats for extra comfort and support.
   
2. Limited space
   If you only have a small space, combine comfort and style with an armless model. Some sofa beds have space in the cavity that the mattress folds in to so can be used to store spare bedding.

3. Sleepovers?
