www.antiques.co.uk, a new-format website launches this spring to introduce specialist and reputable dealers effortlessly to new clients around the UK and the world 24 hours a day. The site's straightforward name guarantees top ratings on Google and other search engines. Its crisp modern looks, well thought out features and fast functionality enable dealers to promote individual pieces online and for collectors, interior designers and other antiques enthusiasts to source them easily. A sister site www.gonemodern.com will provide the same service to dealers and collectors of items with a dateline of 1950.

Both sites are the brainchild of Yorkshire man, Iain Brunt, for 20 years an antique dealer himself and a longstanding adviser to several international art and antiques collectors. He bought the domain name and initially developed the site ten years ago when he spotted the potential and significance of the internet for the antiques market.

Now re-formatted, after extensive research and analysis of the needs of both collectors worldwide and dealers in the UK, the second generation www.antiques.co.uk, has a host of features that sets it out from its few rivals and makes it user friendly for buyers.  For sellers, there is no limit to the number of items that can be promoted on the site.  Dealers are able to take advantage of a free six-month trial, after which, each item costs just £0.02 per day to promote.  No commission is charged and dealer and buyer are able to contact one another directly, enabling that essential personal connection to be established.

Fans of www.antiques.co.uk and www.gonemodern.com include Interior designer Vicki Cockcroft of VC Interiors in Yorkshire, leading Scottish dealer Keith Kelly of Mullaghmore House Omagh, and Kerry Hastings-Spital from Quiet Street Antiques, Bath.  Vicki comments, "www.antiques.co.uk will be so useful as I love sourcing antiques for my clients- but I also know how time consuming that can be. Now, one click on www.antiques.co.uk and I have direct access to excellent suppliers and my deals are efficient and fast-which in turn means satisfied clients."  Keith Kelly says "It's a great website.  This is just what the trade needs.  It's simple, clear and direct to the marketplace".  Kerry Hastings-Spital adds, "I really do like the website and the ease of uploading items/photographs makes it a joy to use. I can only be impressed thus far".

'After some initial scepticism, dealers now recognise that the internet has a key role to play in their marketing plans,' explains Iain Brunt. 'Selling stock face to face through shops, showrooms and at fairs can still be very successful, but dealers are increasingly aware that they can no longer rely on terrestrial networks to make the sales these days. The truly market-savvy ones understand that the internet is the way for the industry to evolve'.
