Fantasy Photographer Dirk Hooper in Hong Kong Group Exhibition

Award-winning fantasy photographer Dirk Hooper will have ten photos on display June 27th during the “Accumulate” international art exhibition in Hong Kong, China.

HONG KONG, CHINA, June 21, 2010 – Award-winning fantasy photographer Dirk Hooper will have ten photos on display June 27^th during the “Accumulate” international art exhibition in Hong Kong, China.  Hooper’s work will join dozens of other international artists at the grand opening of “That Gallery”.  The organizers of the art show describe “Accumulate” as an opportunity to bring together artists from around the word and to exhibit the combined imagination of these artists by showcasing multiple works in a confined space.

Hooper is excited to have work in Hong Kong.  “I’ve wanted to get a foothold in Asia for a while now and it’s hard to beat an exhibition in Hong Kong.  My dream is to get a show in Tokyo, but I’m thrilled with this first step,” Hooper said.  Known primarily for fetish photography, “Accumulate” presents a softer side of Hooper’s work.  “This is not an erotic art show, so I focused more on fantasy and glamour style portraits.  The style is the same, but this work is not as provocative as most of my shows lately,” Hooper explained.

Danger Darling and Scott Van Eck both do work as makeup artists in the ten photos Hooper has in the “Accumulate” exhibition.  The models represented in Hooper’s photos are:

“Accumulate” will open on Sunday, June 27^th at 3:00 p. m. in Hong Kong, China.  “That Gallery” is located at Unit F Superluck Inds Centre, 45-53 Sha Tsui Rd.  Refreshments will be provided.

Dirk Hooper is a world-renowned fetish and fantasy photographer, fine artist and writer whose work has been described as “forbidden tales to rival the likes of H.P. Lovecraft and the Marquis de Sade.”  Dirk’s publishing credits include such diverse media as comic books, music CDs, art books and fetish magazines like “Von Gutenberg.”  He has also cultivated a reputation as a fine artist in established venues like the prestigious Fred Jones Jr. Art Museum and as an underground visionary in events like “the Dirty Show” in Detroit, “Fetish Project” in Brussels, Belgium and “Siberia” in Utrecht, the Netherlands.  Dirk has work in the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institute based at Indiana University.  Dirk Hooper is the host and creator of “The Fetish Show” podcast and actively helps artists, writers and musicians with self-promotion and social networking.
