Pressemeddelelse september 8, 2015 Stamceller Stamcellebank

The German company Vita 34 AG based in Leipzig, publicly listed at the Frankfurt Stock exchange, is taking over the business of StemCare Group, the leading Scandinavian cord blood bank.

Today the management board signed the contract to take over all operations of the StemCare Group. The final takeover will take place after the fulfillment of all suspensive conditions, among them is the transfer of official permits.

The StemCare Group is currently storing about 14,000 stem cell units for clients from Denmark, Sweden, Romania and Turkey. As a part of the Vita34 group StemCare will continue its ambition of being a significant player in the Scandinavian market through a strengthened position.

Vita 34 is one of the world's largest stem cell banks with more than 120 000 samples stored, starting its operation back in 1997 in Germany.  Today the company has operations in more than 20 countries. Stemcare's activities continue as before, with the administration, laboratory and stem cell storage in Gentofte and new established Swedish department in Malmo.

There will be additional press material released as soon as possible.
