Hornsleth is still to be arrested in Uganda

Pressemeddelelse november 20, 2006 Kultur

The Ugandan Ambassador needs an education programme about art, culture and general enlightenment

As Joachim Buwembo managing editor of the Kampala Monitor wrote already at 7 November "the residents of Buteyoungera village are rejoicing over the good luck that is brought to them" is reported over the borders of Uganda into the neighbouring countries.

Instead of comparing it to something good he tries to create a huge crisis by comparing this to the cartoons that offended Muslims. Now Buturo again urges the Danish Government to limit the freedom of speech as well as the freedom of art. "Ethics and Integrity Minister Dr James Nsaba Buturo has already castigated the project as the work of a depraved mind and warned Buteyongera residents against associating with the man.

But the people of Buteyongera have told the minister to his face that they are satisfied with the chance Hornsleth is giving them to make modest investments and see nothing wrong in adding his name to their identities. Incidentally, Uganda nationals have no national identity card and the ones used were designed for the project.

The government will need a very straight face to ban the Hornsleth project without providing the people of Buteyongera with an alternative. For the biting poverty in the villages is yet to be alleviated by the successive poverty alleviation programmes launched with such pomp over the past decade.

There was the Entandikwa (seed capital) fund worth billions of shillings that disappeared down the throats of political supporters of the system.
Now there is Bonna Bagaggawale (let everyone be rich) fund, which cynics are calling Bonna Bagwagwawale (let everyone be silly), worth hundreds of billions. Minister Buturo says police will be waiting for Hornsleth at the airport when he returns. In other sources it is said that Buturo told journalist that Hornsleth will be happily expected at the airport and should be prepared to go to jail until there is clarity about the details of the case. Hornsleth is expected in the country next month to assist government in its investigations about the business he is transacting in the country.

Buturo, minister of ethics and integrity, is making propaganda that makes Hornsleth out to be what he called a satanic antichrist and homosexual.

Moreover, the Ugandan embassy threatens a dancer not to dance at the opening of the exhibition and then talks about the idea of democracy. A minister who is called to represent ethics and integrity should guarantee democracy, human rights, ideas of freedom and human dignity. What he is really showing is that he hates homosexuals. His statements about Hornsleth being the antichrist are also very unsettling. Hornsleth is a convicted Buddhist and spends much time travelling through Asia and stays at different monasteries. Buturo is in our opinion questioning the freedom of religion. If this is Buturos idea of Democracy the Danish Government should ask for the retirement of this Minister. Hornsleth and a team of the best lawyers of east Africa are fighting the case against Butoro and keeping the integrity of the project. "add the lawyers name"

Hornsleth himself will go to Kampala and show the photos in Kampala and he invites Peter Sloterdijk, Germany, Pamela Anderson USA, and Vittorio Sgarbi, Italy, Nicolas G. Hajek, Switzerland to meet Butoro with him and explain the project. Hornsleth chose these people because they have all related to his work for many years and belong to his favourite group of people.

"I will stand next to my people and the project, I do not want the people to loose their piglets, goats and sheeps as well as I want them to keep the hope. I think it is of devilish ethics to take away the piglets from the village. Butoro should go were Idi Amin went”, Hornsleth says.

We need as much publicity for these people and the cause in order to provide hope.

'I also want you to stop to print my name or show my face because it not about me any more, it is about democracy and the freedom of art and speech as well as the control of people like Buturo", Hornsleth pleads.

The Danish government should stand behind Hornsleth and send their Ugandan Ambassador to an education programme about art, culture and general enlightenment.
